EVChargeCalc was built with one goal: give EV owners and shoppers an honest, accurate picture of what it actually costs to charge an electric vehicle in the United States.

There's a lot of conflicting information out there. Some sources understate costs to sell EVs, others exaggerate them to scare people away. We built this calculator to cut through the noise with real data and transparent math.

What We Do

Our calculator uses real electricity rates from the U.S. Energy Information Administration, current gas prices from AAA, and EPA-rated vehicle efficiency data to produce accurate cost estimates for every charging method — home Level 1/2, public Level 2, and DC fast charging — across all 50 states.
